Golden end to challenging year for Tauranga Synchro artistic swimmers 20 Dec, 2020 09:08 PM 3 minutes to read Bay of Plenty Times By: Supplied content Tauranga Synchro s team of 35 athletes shined at the 2020 NZ Artistic Swimming Championships held in Hamilton. Over 170 athletes from around the country competed in the event, in a variety of solo, duet and team performances. Artistic swimming, formerly known as synchronised swimming, is a mixture of swimming, gymnastics and dance performed in the water. On the podium there were plenty of smiles for the Baywave-based club. Advertisement The biggest upset came from their Hector s Dolphins team, comprising Grace Fish, Grace Reid, Estella Sylvester, Jasmine Riley, Sophie Winters and Greta Nemedi, who won gold in the hard-fought beginner Dolphin category. ....
