Chief Quinto will mark 41 years of service on July 21 of this year. Fire Chief Rich Etheridge said on Action Line that Chief Quinto has been an outstanding member of the department for a long time. I was in the eighth grade when he joined the fire department. I like rubbing that in whenever I can. He s really plugged into the community and we re really fortunate to have his years of experience and connections within the community. ....

Staff at the Juneau airport had reported the eagle to CCFR. Other agencies at the scene were the Juneau Raptor Center, Department of Fish and Game, and Juneau airport staff. Assistant Chief Ed Quinto said the eagle was about 60 feet off the ground. The Raptor Center had evaluated the eagle and was reported to be in good shape. Quinto added that a bystander on the bike trail nearby was the one who spotted the eagle. ....
Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Capital City Fire Rescue was called to douse a porch fire Friday evening at a resident in the nine thousand block of Long Run Drive in the Valley. Assistant Fire Chief Ed Quinto says they got the call at about 7:30. He said a grill set the front porch on fire. Apparently the grill had a gas leak and caught while they were using it to cook steaks. We were able to knock the fire down. Damage was confined to the grill and some of the home s siding. The chief estimated damage to $1,800. No one was injured, he says. ....
