The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, and the policy measures to combat it, are having profound effects on the economic and social lives of citizens. They are threatening employment as well as the long-term livelihoods and well-being of millions around the world.
South Africa has not been exempted from the socio-economic effects of the pandemic. Martin Henseler holds a Ph.D. in agricultural science obtained in University of Hohenheim and specialized in agricultural economics. Martin works on regional agricultural supply modeling and in model based agricultural and environmental policy impact analysis. He is experienced in working with partial equilibrium models and with CGE models. Martin is a researcher at EDEHN (Equipe d Economie Le Havre Normandie), Le Havre University in Le Havre (France). He works as a consultant for PEP (Partnership for Economic Policy) in Nairobi (Kenya) and for the Thünen Institute of Rural Studies in Braunschweig (Germany).
