As reported in the December 25, 2020 edition of the Rangeley Highlander, a public hearing was held on December 8, 2020 to provide information and receive input on the Rangeley and Oquossoc TIF (Tax Increment Financing) District and Development Program. This 30 year program which includes 677.96 acres of the downtown areas of Rangeley and Oquossoc is expected to produce $6.5 million in increased tax revenue. Up to 100% of this tax revenue can be put into the TIF account and be used to help fund development in the TIF Districts. The amount of tax money that doesn’t go into the TIF account would be used to fund Town government and would not have to be raised through property taxation. ....

Rulli, O'Brien get Senate committee assignments | News, Sports, Jobs

State Sen. Michael Rulli is the chairman of the Ohio Senate Small Business and Economic Opportunity Committee while state Sen. Sandra O’Brien is vice chairman of the Local Government and Elections Committee.
The committee assignments were announced Friday by Senate President Matt Huffman, R-Lima.
Rulli, R-Salem, represents Columbiana and Mahoning counties while O’Brien, R-Knox, represents all of Trumbull and Ashtabula counties and a section of Geauga County.
Rulli and O’Brien also will serve as members of the Primary and Secondary Education Committee.
Rulli also serves on the Workforce and Higher Education Committee.
In the last legislative session, Rulli was vice chairman of the General Government and Agency Review Committee and served as a member on three other committees. ....
