And in march my fifth grade students had the opportunity to go vote on various book titles, picture books. and my shadow is purple had the majority vote. and it was elected to read. as a cloth. so you bought it at the swastika book fair, of course a lot of people are familiar with, that i remember those days very well. and then you had the sort of a vote in the class, like a kind of literally what do we want to read together, they voted for this and you read the book. i want to just read a little portion of it so people get a sense of the book. i was reading it today. and it is about someone who feels not like they don t fit neatly into either gender, the two gender binary s as constructed. some of my friends think i am simply confused but the thing i love most is not having to choose. so tell me i m blue, only blue can be strong. but my mom is strong too, so i think they are wrong. some sell me i m pink because pink is the most caring, but dads always crying, and loving, and sharing ....
