Snow accumulating across Dallas-Fort Worth, and much more expected
Forecasters have urged people to prepare for one of the worst winter storms on record.

By late Sunday evening, snow had begun accumulating in North Texas as predictions for one of the worst winter storms on record continued to pile on.

North Texas is experiencing what will almost certainly be the coldest cold snap so far this century, with lows in the single digits and wind chills well below zero. Temperatures haven t dropped below 10 degrees in Dallas since 1990, and haven t gone below zero since 1930.
Rotating Power Outages Issued
The Texas council that manages the majority of the state s electricity initiated rotating power outages Monday morning as a winter storm dropped snow and ice and temperatures remained below freezing. But some customers were without power for several hours.
The Electric Reliability Council of Texas has urged residents to reduce electricity. Over 2 million customers across Texas have gone without power as officials worked to conserve energy. In Dallas-Fort Worth, temperatures have fallen into the single digits and wind chills were below zero.
Dallas County on Sunday reported 10 more COVID-19 deaths and 885 new coronavirus cases. The latest victims were nine women and one man in their 40s to 80s..

Due to extreme cold weather conditions, the Ellis Davis Field House and Eastfield Community College (Mesquite) COVID-19 vaccine drive-through locations operated by Parkland Health & Hospital System will be closed Monday, February 15 and Tuesday, February 16. Parkland will contact patients directly with appointment instructions.
The COVID-19 vaccine clinics at Parkland Memorial Hospital and the Outpatient Clinic (OPC) will be closed on Monday, February 15. Patients will be contacted by Parkland to reschedule their vaccination appointment in the upcoming days. Please do not contact Parkland.
