Teens at Houston Zoo launch campaign to change public perception of snakes and calm fears Published  article HOUSTON - July 16th is World Snake Day, and a group of teens at the Houston Zoo are celebrating by launching a campaign to try and change peoples’ perception of snakes.  It s called the Snake-Saving Campaign Committee and is made up of members of the Houston Zoo’s Zoo Crew. And their goal is to understand how communities perceive snakes and change the way Houstonians think about the misunderstood animal.  In order to combat misconceptions and introduce a new interpretation of snakes, the committee is collecting data through surveys, quizzes, and observation at the zoo.
