WSU thrilled to welcome alumnus as new chancellor

SA’s first black female chartered accountant, Nonkululeko Gobodo, has been appointed the new chancellor of Walter Sisulu University. She takes over from Dr Sheila Sisulu, who has just ended her second term. Sisulu is the daughter-in-law of the late Walter Sisulu. Gobodo is set to start in her new position on May 1, according to WSU council chair advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi SC. ....

WSU moves to upskill academic staff

Walter Sisulu University’s council chair, advocate Tembeka Ngcukaitobi, has admitted that the majority of WSU lecturers fail to meet the minimum requirements for their posts but says steps are being taken to address the problem. Ngcukaitobi, who was re-elected for a second term as the university’s council chair last week, told the Dispatch the situation would soon change because the council was making it a priority to encourage lecturing staff to upgrade their qualifications. ....
