blake and meg blame. good morning. reporter: hustle and bustle. a trash in downtown san jose here s what we know so far. around 11 p.m. last night witnesses said two cars were racing on santa clara at 22nd. you can see the streetlight pole on the sidewalk. a honda civic lost control and struck the pole and hit a tree right in front of the santa clara county mental health department about. the other car kept on going. witnesses also tell us that a person also fled on foot. two people ended up dying on the scene. a third person died at the hospital. the deceased victims were two males and one female. a fourth person a male victim is now in critical condition at the hospital. police say all the dead and injured are young adults possibly juveniles. witnesses say the damage to the car was severe. car was split in half. the frame was bent. it looked like he was airborne. and the car split down the middle. it was bad. reporter: police are still looking for the second vehicle.
