HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - A driver is facing multiple charges after leading police on a chase across Long County and into Hinesville at speeds topping 100 miles per hour.
The Georgia State Patrol says troopers attempted to pull over a Black Chrysler 300 late Wednesday night on Highway 84 in Long County. The 19-year-old driver started to pull over but then took off again. GSP troopers say the chase led them through Walthourville and on several back roads in Hinesville. ....

HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - A driver is facing multiple charges after leading police on a chase across Long County and into Hinesville at speeds topping 100 miles per hour.
The Georgia State Patrol says troopers attempted to pull over a Black Chrysler 300 late Wednesday night on Highway 84 in Long County. The 19-year-old driver started to pull over but then took off again. GSP troopers say the chase led them through Walthourville and on several back roads in Hinesville.
The chase ended when troopers used the pursuit intervention technique (PIT) to stop the vehicle, which caused the suspect to lose control and wreck in front of Parker’s service station at Ralph Quarterman on East Oglethorpe Highway in Hinesville. ....

HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - “Took me a couple of days to realize we really won a national championship.”
A little more than a week later, Hinesville native and NCAA champion Davion Mitchell is still getting messages about his championship win.
“People have been hitting me up. I am like “Who’s this?” But yeah, it’s just been everyone hitting me,” Mitchel said.
The junior guard is well-known in Liberty County as he led the Liberty County High School Panthers to its first GHSA state title in 2016. ....

Hinesville Fire Department PIO Capt. Alex Mason said a small grease fire in the kitchen of the fast food restaurant located on the 600 block of East Oglethorpe Highway was reported shortly after 12:30 pm. Mason said a small grease fire had ignited and was quickly put out after firefighters from the Hinesville Dire Department arrived. According to Mason the fire caused minimal damage to the kitchen area. The Liberty County Health Department has to insure the kitchen is free of contaminates due to an extinguisher being used to put out the fire before it can be reopened. ....
