With no games or full training allowed, sporting clubs are finding it tough to get some ball work these days, but the members of the Irish Soccer Network decided to do their bit for charity - by turning up for social distant training!
Based at East Meath United, Dundalk FC coach Mark Costigan s group of players got together in their pods for a short session, with training fees supplementing donations from PPS Construction, Newgate Wines and Mitchel Property Management to raise €400 for the mental health charity Jigsaw. With the pandemic, all these charities need our support and the players wanted to do something because they can t play matches, he stated.
