The heartbroken family of a woman stabbed to death by her former husband almost a year ago have described how her bravery has helped them through their darkest days.

A group of women have taken up running to raise money and awareness of domestic violence in memory of a sister and mother who was brutally murdered.

The body of the mother-of-three, also known as Gemma Lynne-Marjoram, was discovered at a derelict former mental health hospital in Thorpe St Andrew on June 19 last year.

A man who murdered his wife had threatened to stab her if she left him years before, her family have said.
Cowey, who has 10 convictions for 27 previous offences, including robbery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon, has a history of violence.
And although largely unknown to Gemma’s family until after she was murdered in the summer, there were signs about what Cowey was capable of even before they got married.
