According to RCMP, at 3:20 pm, employees at Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts observed a man attempting to steal items by hiding them in his jacket. When the employees tried to stop the man, an altercation ensued. During the scuffle, one of the employees received cuts to both his hands and one ear after the shoplifter produced a knife. An RCMP officer was only a block away when the incident was reported. This led to the arrest of 37-year-old Quesnel resident James Peter Alexander Halvorsen.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. on March 9, employees at Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts saw a man trying to steal items by concealing them in his jacket. When the employees tried to stop him an altercation ensued. During the scuffle, one of the employees received cuts to both his hands and one ear after the male produced a knife. RCMP were close by when the 911 call was received. James Peter Alexander Halvorsen who is a 37-year-old Quesnel resident was taken into custody. A knife was also seized at the scene.

1 suspect arrested following armed robbery in the Interior A man has been arrested following a scary situation in the Interior this week. According to police, on Thursday at 11:30 am, store employees at a Quesnel Rona noticed a man attempting to steal tools from their store. An off-duty police officer followed the man out of the building and provided a description of the suspect. While officers tried to locate the individual, the suspect entered the Eagle Home Building Centre and tried to take a drill. When approached by an employee, the man took out a knife and threatened to kill the staff member.

Man accused of attempting to rob two stores in Quesnel appears in court SHARE ON: Quesnel Courthouse (G Henderson, MyCaribooNow.com staff)    Charges have now been laid against a man who is accused of threatening employees at a hardware store in Quesnel with a knife.    36-year old James Halvorsen appeared in court on Friday afternoon (Feb 19) and is now charged with one count each of uttering threats and theft under $5,000.    Halvorson was then released from custody and is due back in court on February 26th.    RCMP were called to the Rona store on February 18th by store employees reporting that a man was attempting to steal tools.
