The EA-18G Growler version of the F/A-18 was built as a replacement for the Navy’s previous carrier-borne EW aircraft, the EA-6B Prowler, which was retired in 2019 after 48 years of faithful service.
The U.S. government should consider offering Ukraine the EA-18G Growler, a variant of the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet, to help the F-16s that the Ukrainians have on order punch holes through Russia’s front lines.
