Man haunted for life by sex abuse that occurred decades ago at N.J. school, lawsuit says
Updated Feb 15, 2021;
A man has filed suit against a school district in Bergen County, alleging he has been haunted for life by sexual abuse at the hands of his teachers more than 50 years ago.
The victim, identified in court papers as “D.H.,” claims the abuse began in 1967 on a sixth-grade class trip to Montreal when the teacher tackled him, held him down and “lingered on top” of him.
After returning from the trip, the teacher who is not named as a defendant in the lawsuit allegedly encouraged the victim and other students to spend time in his apartment “to drink alcohol and smoke cigarettes,” states the suit, filed Wednesday in Superior Court of Bergen County.
