The Wire had published a story alleging links between Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar's son and a family that benefitted from land acquisition for Dwarka Expressway.
The report alleged that the official’s son Karan Chauhan had links with a family that benefited from inflated compensation for land acquired by the NHAI.
According to sources, the preliminary investigative report also unveils a conspiracy by senior officers of Delhi’s Vigilance Department including the chief secretary to undervalue the scale of the scam as Rs 312 crore. The actual compensation award would have resulted in an illicit gain of Rs 850 crore to the beneficiaries, sources said
Speaking at the event, Gadkari also mentioned the audit report on the "huge funding mismanagement" on the Dwarka Expressway project. He said that it was a "gross misrepresentation".
