The Dutch Labor Party/GreenLeft (PvdA/GL) alliance has become the biggest party in the Dutch elections for the European Parliament, winning eight seats, in a setback for right-wing parties, exit polls showed Thursday.
NSC leader Pieter Omtzigt has been the roadblock preventing Ronald Plasterk from becoming the next prime minister of the Netherlands, according to NRC. Sources close to the negotiations between the PVV, VVD, NSC and BBB told the newspaper that Omtzigt has his doubts about Plasterk, who is rumored to be the preferred nominee by Geert Wilders, the leader of the far right PVV party.

The PvdA/GroenLinks alliance presented on Tuesday its program for the 2023 parliamentary election. The program, titled Together for a Hopeful Future (“Samen voor een hoopvolle toekomst”), notably includes a 16 euros minimum wage and a tax on wealth above 1 million euros.
