ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) The New York State Attorney General s Office Wednesday identified the Rochester Police officers who shot and killed a Rochester man during a shootout Friday night.
The office says Samuel Giancursio and Michael Bennett fired shots at
Timothy Flowers as he turned and shot at officers who were trying to arrest him last Friday night. Police say Flowers had run from police through the backyards at the time he was shot. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The shooting happened as Rochester s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams
were conducting an arrest around 9:30 p.m. near Hudson Avenue and Durnan Street for Flowers, a high risk suspect. He was initially wanted for attempted murder, first-degree assault, and criminal possession of a weapon in connection to a shooting on ....

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) Police in Rochester fatally shot a fugitive Friday after he opened fire on officers attempting to take him into custody, authorities said.
WHAM-TV reports the man, whose name was not released, had been wanted for attempted murder, first-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The case marks the third fatal police shooting of the year in Rochester.
Police Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan said the man had been involved in several shootings and was considered “high risk.”
Herriott-Sullivan said officers followed the man for several hours before trying to arrest him. The shooting happened near Hudson Avenue and Durnan Street, she said, after the man ran off, pulled a gun and shot at the officers. ....

Rochester police shot and killed a man Friday night when he opened fire as they tried to arrest him. Chief Cynthia Herriott-Sullivan says the man in his 20s was considered high risk and wanted for attempted murder and other violent crimes. When they moved in, the suspect ran through back yards firing at officers. Two fired back, and the suspect died a short time later at the hospital.
Chief Herriott-Sullivan says she ordered officers to observe the suspect and not move in until he was away from other people, because he was with relatives and friends. She says they tried to arrest him near Hudson Avenue and Durnan Street, and the officers fired back in a yard or driveway on Avenue D. ....
