The Illinois Department of Agriculture continues to move ahead with plans for holding the Illinois and DuQuoin State Fairs this year. Ag Director Jerry Costello says he s feeling positive that the fairs will be held, but what that will look like remains to be seen.

Costello says they have been talking with public health officials about implementing some of the measures Major League Baseball and large event venues are using. Tickets are on sale now for concerts and carnival rides at both fairs. The Illinois State Fair in Springfield runs August 12-22, while DuQuoin is slated for August 27-September 6. ....
