　　掏泉工程实施后，月牙泉最大水深由1.9米增至4.2米，平均水深由0.8米增至3.5米。注水工程完成后，由小泉湾人工湖向月牙泉注水，水面升高了65.2厘米，停止注水观测31天，泉水面下降了61厘米，基本回落到原来水面。后来，向月牙泉人工输过几次水，注入的水和泉水“泾渭分明”，且两种水色有日渐混浊的趋势，1992年停止了人工输水。
