Photo book raising funds for Simon


A stunning collection of wildlife photos published by Vincent Butler in a book called Sixty Photographs for Simon as a fundraiser for the Simon Community would make an ideal Christmas gift while helping the Simon Community.
The book consists of 60 photographs which Vincent captured on his worldwide travels working as a lecturer aboard the expedition cruise ship, the National Geographic Explorer and as an expedition leader with Across the Divide, a British based trekking company. Each of the photographs is accompanied by a short informative text.
In partnership with Vincent, Dundalk Simon has launched a GoFundMe fundraiser appeal Helping Our Homeless - A Gift for Schools . ....

Simon sleepout a virtual success


Dundalk Simon Community celebrated a huge response to the first ever virtual sleep out fundraiser on Friday night last, with over €20,000 raised from hundreds of donations.
The annual event is normally a co-ordinated effort, with volunteers meeting at Market Square for the sleep out.
But COVID restrictions saw the initiative take a virtual turn this year after a call went out to people across the county to host their very own sleep out fundraiser.
Sponsoring the event were Paypal Ireland, which had an incredible response to its appeal, with a whopping €12,000 raised and donated!
Players and staff from Louth GAA were also among the brave who swapped their beds for sleeping bags at Darver on what was surely one of the coldest nights of the winter season so far. ....
