An attack on a firefighter as he tackled a blaze in Belfast has been condemned as senseless .
The incident occurred while firefighters responded to a fire in the Duncairn Gardens area yesterday evening.
The man received a cut to his face after a glass bottle was thrown at him.
It is the third attack on a firefighter this year.
A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) spokesperson said such senseless attacks are incredibly disappointing .
They added: Unfortunately one of our firefighters was injured when he and his colleagues came under attack while responding to an incident in Duncairn Gardens, Belfast.

THE Beatles did it in London, U2 in Los Angeles. But for Phillip Doherty and his skinhead/punk band The Evicted, it was Newry Town Hall that was the unlikely location for a rooftop gig in 1983.
It was never going to pass entirely without incident.
All the skinheads from Belfast had come down for the day and when police arrived, it wasn t long before a couple of their hats were in the canal - as well as some of the crowd.
On the way home, the bus that took the fans to Newry also ended up somewhat the worse for wear.
