DUMBARTON locals are being urged to get fit after the new year by joining in on the 10th anniversary of the Shortbread Walk Jog or Run hosted by West Dunbartonshire Athletics Club. The Walkers Shortbread sponsored event would usually take place at Balloch Country Park, but Covid-19 restrictions have forced the event to be held virtually. Dumbarton’s walkers, joggers and runners are invited to lace up their trainers on the second day of the new year and take part in the virtual event by completing two miles – an average of around 4,000 steps. Event organiser Maurice Donohue said: “It’s hard to believe that the Shortbread Walk Jog or Run is coming up to its 10th anniversary.
