'One Time, Big Time' ops net 20 wanted persons in NegOr

DUMAGUETE CITY - Police in Negros Oriental have arrested at least 20 persons wanted by the law for various offenses during massive anti-crime operations dubbed One Time, Big Time over the weekend. The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office (NOPPO) on Tuesday said the suspects were arrested in simultaneous operations across the province when warrants of arrest were served against them. The suspects were from the towns of Vallehermoso, Basay, Zamboanguita, Manjuyod, Tanjay, Ayungon, Bindoy, Bacong, and Sta. Catalina. Majority of the suspects were arrested for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 on illegal gambling, Presidential Decree 449 or the Cockfighting Law of 1974, and others for simple disobedience, rape, grave slander, parricide, and environmental violations under Republic Act 7586 or the National Integrated Protected Areas System Act of 1992, among others.
