Tigers Ranked No. 33, Medvedeva Ranked No. 74 in Latest ITA Poll

CLEMSON, S.C.  Following its wins over No. 25 Syracuse and Chattanooga, the Clemson women's tennis team (13-7, 2-6 ACC) improved to No. 33 in the ITA team rankings. No. 33 is the highest ranking the Tigers have earned since 2018. Additionally, junior Dani Medvedeva continued to shine over the past two weeks and moved from No. 125 to the No. 74 singles player in the nation. She holds a 15-2 record in dual matches this season and is 3-0 against nationally ranked opponents, including a victory over No. 24 Emma Jackson of Duke. Medvedeva is one of many Tigers to have stepped up this season. Sophia Hatton has been extraordinary thus far, holding a 13-2 record in dual matches. She is a perfect 7-0 from Courts 5 and 6. The Tigers will take a brief break from ACC action this weekend when they host No. 24 UCF on Sunday, Mar. 26 for a ranked matchup at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. Tigers Split Doubleheader on Sunday

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 46 Clemson women’s tennis team split its Sunday doubleheader with No. 51 Boston College and Chattanooga at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. The Tigers fell to the Eagles 4-1 before taking down the Mocs 5-2 to close out the day. The Tigers moved to 13-7 overall and 2-6 in conference play.  “Members of team 48 showed resiliency and what a championship mindset looks like after disappointment,” said Head Coach Amy Sargeant on the day’s events. Those players took ownership of the culture change and refused to give in. We continue to learn and grow, and be bold with our actions.”  Boston College took the doubles point to get out to an early lead, and carried its momentum into singles with two consecutive victories. Tigers Topple No. 25 Syracuse

CLEMSON, S.C. – The No. 46 Clemson women’s tennis team (12-6, 2-5 ACC) pulled off an impressive 6-1 victory over the No. 25 Syracuse Orange on Friday at Duckworth Family Tennis Facility. The Tigers came out hot to win the doubles point and followed that up with four straight-set victories in singles play to snap a six-match losing streak.  “Today's win came down to dedication and commitment to the process,” remarked Head Coach Amy Sargeant. “It’s really easy to back down when you take multiple losses in a row, but not this team, not today.” The doubles pair of Jenna Thompson and Leigh Van Zyl as well as the pairing of Cristina Mayorova and Dani Medvedeva each earned 6-3 victories to put the Tigers up early. Tigers Drop Match to NC State Friday Night

CLEMSON, S.C. –  The Clemson men’s tennis team (9-4, 0-1 ACC) fought on Friday night in the ACC opener against NC State (7-4, 1-0 ACC) but were unable to capture the victory, dropping the match 4-0. The Tigers and Wolfpack were evenly matched and battled from the first serve in doubles, but NC State was able to get off to a quick start and take the win on Court 3, 6-2. Max Smith and Spencer Whitaker were down 5-2 against NC State’s No. 39 pair Wayanda/Izquierdo Luque, facing two set points before making an incredible comeback on Court 1, looking to push NC State to a tiebreak.
