An Early Morning fire takes hours for firefighters to put out. The fire started inside a duplex located in 200 block of Western Avenue in waterloo. Firefighters arrived at the duplex around four a m to find smoke cominggut of the house. You can see flames coming out of the second floor windows as they entered the house. The firefighters told us the wind was making it tough for them to put out the fire. The wind was also causing problems with the smokk the smoke wws blown all over the place including into the faces of the Fire Fighters on the ladders. Accidenttl shooting o o an eastern iowa man this morning. According to the Black Hawk County Sheriffs Office the incident happened in Elk Run Heights after 1230 thisorning. They say he dropped a handndun while he was getting out if his car. They believe it then went off when it hit the ground and hit his leg. He was then taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. CountytySheriffs Office the gun used in the incident was a 38 caliber handgun a smaller pistol like the one you see here.
