The annual Ebubeleni Music Festival that takes place during the last weekend of the year is back with a star-studded line-up of national and local-based musicians such as Amanda Black and Dumza Maswana, and Mafa Bavuma as a host. The 12th annual festival is a huge tourist attraction for the Eastern Cape, playing an integral part of the holiday line-up,, with the event strategically placed to coincide with year-end celebrations.

For four years, libraries in Buffalo City have been operating at a R25m annual deficit due to underfunding by the department of sport, recreation, arts & culture and on August 25, BCM council approved a motion to ask DSRAC for R45m per annum to address this.
