Tolquhon Napoleon sold for 5,000gns.
In-calf heifers sold to an average of £2,230/head at the dispersal of the Aidansfield herd of pedigree Salers in Northumberland, England.
The sale, one of the largest Salers dispersals ever seen in the UK, saw 41 in-calf heifers sell to a top price of 2,800gns and 88 cows sell to an average of £1,929, with a top price of 3,100gns.
There were also 15 yearling heifers sold to an average of £1,592 and four stock bulls which averaged £3,806, with a top price of 5,500gns.
The herd had been built up by Conor Colgan, who tragically died in November last year. Originally from Northern Ireland, Conor had developed a state-of-the-art research station at his farm in Lowick, Northumberland, which was focused on feed efficiency, genetic improvement and carbon reduction.
