It jets jammed up along the bridges that span the river. It doesnt happen all too often when the Delaware River freezes over its a sight to see. The problem the localized flooding that ensues. People who live nearby say you have to expect this if you buy a house near the river. We see it once in a while where it gets this cold. Down where we were yesterday it was flowing good, it must be just up here where its blocked off. Reporter officials from the National Weather service say the problem develops when ice gets jammed that forces the current to accumulate forcing the potential for flooding. We live enough away from it, we dont get flooded, but we can get trapped in because the access roads out of the neighborhood would be flooded.
