Two persons from city arrested
The city police busted a suspected hawala racket and arrested two persons near the Telugu Talli flyover on Saturday night. The police seized unaccounted cash of about ₹70 lakh, in the denomination of ₹500 and ₹2,000 notes from them.
The arrested were identified as Roshan Kumar Jain (49) and O. Srinivas, both from the city. A few more suspected to be involved in the case are yet to be arrested. ....

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ch. Adinarayana in a release on Tuesday said that the police would impose fines for unauthorised parking on the roads as per Motor Vehicle (MV) Act from December 28. He also said that action would be also initiated against the managements of the shops, shopping malls and other commercial establishments who are asking their customers to park vehicles on roads despite having a cellar parking facility.
Mr. Adinarayana said that since the last two weeks, the city police (traffic) wing has been conducting a special drive for cellar parking. The police have been creating awareness over no-parking and also asking the management of various establishments to use their cellars only for vehicle parking to avoid traffic congestions. ....

Anti-drug drive yields results as SEB seizes 45 kg ganja in series of raids

The anti-drug drive by the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB) of the city police is yielding results in Visakhapatnam city.
The SEB conducted raids at three places and arrested eight persons including two women while they were allegedly found with 45 kg ganja and hash oil, at various parts in the city on Wednesday.
Addressing a press conference in the city on Thursday, Additional Commissioner of Police (SEB) V. Ajitha said that the SEB, along with City Task Force (CTF), raided a residence at Pendurthi. The teams found two women P. Vasundhara (21) and K. Sireesha (21) who procured the hash oil from Visakha Agency and were trying to sell it here. The seized hash oil is said to be worth around ₹1.5 lakh, she said. Police are yet to ascertain further details in the case. ....
