In a statement Friday, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, the Davao City Covid-19 Task Force spokesperson, underscored the importance of further educating people about accountability with the recent release of President Ferdinand Marcos's Executive Order No. 3 regarding the matter. The President's Sept. 12 EO 3 allows the voluntary wearing of face masks in open spaces and non-crowded outdoor areas with good ventilation. "We will monitor for at least two weeks to know if that particular event has caused an increase in our cases. (Screengrab) DAVAO CITY-As cases surge, the local government called on Dabawenyos anew to avail of the free surveillance swabbing for those manifesting influenza-like symptoms and close contacts of confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) positive patients. Dr. Michelle Schlosser, spokesperson of the Davao City Covid-19 Task Force, noted Thursday that active Covid-19 cases increased between July 31 and August 6 by about 38 percent, with an average daily positivity rate of 10.67 percent. In a radio interview Thursday, Dr. Michelle Schlosser, the task force spokesperson, said the positivity rate of 8.3 percent of Covid-19 from July 24 to 31 remains "very high and Dabawenyos should not be complacent."
