The remains of Kayla Pierce, 29, were found 8 p.m. Thursday in Detroit, according to a release from the office of Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy. The exact location of the discovery was not disclosed. Dowan Knighton, 47, of Detroit was arrested at the scene and, on Sunday, he was arraigned on charges of mutilation of a dead body, concealing the death of an individual and tampering with evidence. Pierce’s mother reported her missing on November 24, 2020, according to the release.
