Twenty five years ago (1996), Douglas D. Alder and Karl F. Brooks published an excellent book titled A History Of Washington Country -From Isolation to Destination.   Following is an excerpt from the final paragraph of the Epilogue titled The Debate Over The Future Of Washington County.
