Troubled foster care agency gets big boost from Nebraska

LINCOLN NE — The financially troubled St. Francis Ministries, which won a contract last year to take over foster care and child welfare services for Douglas and Sarpy counties, will get a new emergency 25-month contract at a total cost of more than $147 million.
As 3 News Now first reported in August, 2019, the organization, which is based in Kansas, won the contract by underbidding PromiseShip, the company that had been providing the services for the past 10 years, by 60 per cent.
