The Fabbioli winery story starts in 1987 when Doug Fabbioli and Colleen Berg moved to California with the idea that they could find some land and plant some grapevines.
Ten years later, when that idea didn’t bear fruit, they headed back East, according to the history on the Fabbioli Cellars website.
It was early in 2000 when Berg found an available 25-acre parcel just north of Leesburg in Loudoun County. By 2001, they were planting Merlot and Petit Verdot grapes there. ....
