A rare notice of motion that would have urged the provincial government to immediately re-open all outdoor recreational facilities was defeated during West Perth’s council meeting May 17.
Put forth by Coun. Jeff Marshall, and seconded by Coun. Murray Rose, the extension of the stay-at-home order by Ontario Premier Doug Ford until at least June 2 has been controversial as it limits citizens from participating in a myriad of outdoor recreational activities. WPFD to receive second tanker by October

West Perth council recommended the purchase of a second tanker for the West Perth Fire Department (WPFD) at their meeting April 6, specifically a 6,800-litre (1,800 gallons) single axle tanker, that will arrive no later than October.
The tanker will replace a 1996 tanker that will be taken off the road this August once it’s 25-year life ends, leaving at least a two-month window where just one tanker will be available for the WPFD to fight rural fires. ....
