A lot of headlines recently for its high crime rates. As of early september, the city had more than 500 total homicides in 2016, according to the chicago tribune. That outpaces bigger cities of la and new york. Combined, those two had about 100 fewer homicides through late august. The sgt. Can recall hearing Horror Stories from visitors to cedar rapids. Her children werent allowed to go play in the front yard for fear of what may happen to them, for theres little doubt that chitown crime is troubling.
