In her judgment Monday, Judge Dorothy Nyakaunda Kamanga sentenced five people to life imprisonment with hard labor for the death of MacDonald Masambuka.
Judge Kamanga also sentenced Catholic priest Thomas Muhosha, police officer Chikondi Chileka and three others to 30 years imprisonment with.
Roman Catholic doctrine states that when a priest is convicted of a crime and has to serve a jail term, his Bishop requests the Pope to remove his clerical state.
"When they killed my son they dug a trench and buried his remains. After that they planted potatoes on top to conceal their act. All this was revealed by Alfred (one of the murderers), who masterminded everything. It is important that those people that committed this murder must be killed also.
