The Toronto Raptors begin the second half of their season Thursday evening after a tumultuous first half.
From a dreadful 2-8 start, to a long climb to make it to the .500 level and, finally, dealing with the realities of playing in the middle of a pandemic to close the first half of the season, the Raptors have had a roller-coaster of a season thus far.
Despite the up-and-down nature of the first half of the season, Toronto finds itself entering the second half in the playoff hunt, currently in the No. 8 seed of the Eastern Conference, and just two games back of the fourth-place Boston Celtics. ....

CFL and NFL analyst Chris Schultz leaves an incredible legacy

One of the most prominent
CFL on TSN figures has passed away. That would be Chris Schultz, who played for the University of Arizona Wildcats from 1979-82 (first as a defensive tackle, then as a left tackle on offense in his senior season, setting him up for a professional career at that position), the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys from 1983-86, and the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts from 1986-94. Schultz then went on to perhaps an even bigger impact as a broadcaster, joining TSN in 1998 and spending more than 20 years covering the CFL and NFL for them, while also playing a key role in the annual Purolator Tackle Hunger campaign in support of local food banks. Schultz also worked as a football analyst for The Fan 590 (now Sportsnet The Fan 590) and TSN 1050, including serving as the color commentator for the latter’s Argonauts’ broadcasts in 2018 and 2019. Schultz passed away Thursday night from a heart attack; he was 61. And the Canadian football world has offered up incredible trib ....

The Maple Leafs stomped the Oilers last night with both heavy offence and stifling defensive play, winning 4-0, and getting a shutout for Jack Campbell in his first game back from injury.
That was a really fun game to watch as a Leafs fan, but for the rest of this week the games could be a little more difficult to watch if you live in Ontario. There’s four games on tap, two against the Oilers and two against the Canucks. Two of the games, Monday and Thursday, have very late starts at 10:00 p.m. ET, while Wednesday’s start is a more manageable 8:00 p.m.. ....
