The Intellectual Property Law of 2005 (IP Law) was
Vietnam s first truly comprehensive legal instrument focusing
on intellectual property. More than 15 years since its issuance,
the IP Law has been strengthened and refined through its two
amendments (in 2009 and 2019) and subordinate legal documents.
Still, some provisions of the law have issues that remain
controversial or unclear.

Without Hollywood blockbusters in the running, domestic filmmakers have four movies set for release in local cinemas for Tet, the Lunar New Year holiday.
When the
Tet (Lunar New Year) around a month away, Vietnamese filmmakers and distributors have kicked off various marketing campaigns to introduce their wares before their official premieres in February.
Nguyen Thi Mai Hoa, Director of Galaxy Cinema, a popular cinema chain in Vietnam, said the race in domestic cinema for Tet would be interesting as there will no Hollywood products competing with these four movies, all set for release on the first day of the New Lunar Year (February 12).
