good afternoon i m don scotts. this is what people are talking about today. the special session beginning. lawmakers return faring 3 day session in opening returning for a 3 day session in hoping of closing the gap in the budget. good afternoon, pat. reporter: good afternoon everyone. the senate came back at 10 o clock this morning, the house will get underway. what they re going to do is pick up where they left off at the end of the regular session, which means an income tax increase on about 16% of maryland tax filers. single filers with aen an income up to $100,000 will see no change. your tax taxpayers filinging jointly will see no change up to $150,000. a quarter percent increase on the dollar so the tax rate goes up from 4.25% to 5%. reporter: another big item for this special session is the transfer of teacher pension costs from the state to local governments. there s a state that s been worked out for that as well. reporting live, pat warren. thank ....
