SDARJ to launch Dialogue to Action Feb. 24

A new round of Dialogue to Action sessions, a six-week program of conversations about racism geared toward meaningful action, is set to begin in February. Because of the ongoing pandemic, all sessions will be held via Zoom. Sponsored by the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice in conjunction with the YWCA-DE Racial and Social Justice Program, study circles of eight to 10 people will meet with trained facilitators once a week to talk about race, racism, and possible solutions to end it. The program will culminate in an Action Forum when all participants will gather to finalize plans for specific actions to address identified issues. ....

Paige column was right
Woodie Paige is right on with Sundays column on the Rockies baseball. He is the reason I subscribe to the paper. As soon as I saw his name on the staff, I signed up, remembering his work on the old Rocky Mountain News. I am not a relative, nor have I ever met him, just a fan.

I cannot keep silent whether the coup attempt was an anarchists’ or Donald Trump supporters I do not know. I served 15 years in the Air force as a chaplain to support and defend the constitution. Trump and Rudy Giuliani’s rhetoric to march to the beautiful Capitol was insurrection and sedition, and they should be prosecuted. I am so saddened and angry, as most of you are. ....

Don Peterson
Don Peterson came out of the San Francisco bay area world of high tech and cutting edge software. The companies he started have been involved in 3D graphic systems, encrypted communications, predictive healthcare analytics and more. He founded what is now IVX Health – part of the McKesson Ventures portfolio – in 2012, opening 15 free-standing clinics for intravenous drug therapy. No wonder the executive chairman of Noble Health Corporation has received an Entrepreneur of the Year award.
 
Peterson now lives in the Kansas City area, but with Noble Health’s recent purchase of SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Mexico, he is a frequent visitor to Audrain County. ....

SSM Health signs agreement to transfer St. Mary's- Audrain ownership


The two health systems signed a letter of intent and began negotiations of the hospital in July. 
The two will now partner through all the details to ensure a smooth transition for patients and team members.
“Throughout this process, Noble Health has been an excellent partner and repeatedly demonstrated their commitment to not only preserving, but enhancing, the high-quality compassionate care already provided by our team members in Audrain,” SSM Health President and CEO Laura Kaiser said. “We believe this is the best way to ensure the long-term sustainability of quality care in this community.”
A press release said if all goes as planned, transfer to Noble Health is anticipated in the first quarter of the year.  ....
