Malay's most wanted murder suspect arrested in Iloilo

Police have arrested the most wanted person in Malay town of Aklan who was accused of killing a liaison officer of a security agency over a land dispute at the world-renowned Boracay Island.
Nabbed was 39-year old Edwin Villar Lampute who used to be connected with a security agency tapped to secure a parcels of disputed lands also in Boracay.
Lt. Col. Don Dicksie de Dios, chief of police of Malay Police Station, said the arrest of Lampute was based on the arrest warrant issued by a local court for case of murder which was filed against the suspect in 2017, with no bail recommended. ....

Malay slaughterhouse supervisor arrested, yielded cache of firearms

Lawmen from the Malay Police Station in Aklan have arrested a slaughterhouse supervisor after he yielded a cache of firearms and explosive materials, as the local police have started intensifying the crackdown on loose firearms as part of the early preparation for the 2022 elections.
Lt. Col. Don Dicksie de Dios, director of the Malay Police Station, identified the suspect as Neil Quintin, supervisor of the local government-run slaughterhouse and a resident of Cubay Sur in Malay town.
Seized from him were a .45 pistol, two pieces of 40 MM grenade launcher ammunitions; two pieces of 12 gauge shotgun ammunitions; a homemade improvised 12-gauge shotgun and a homemade improvised .22 cal rifle. ....
