Tuesday, July 27, 2021 By David Jenkins/Standard Democrat SIKESTON The Sikeston City Council heard plans of a new proposed subdivision, but one Sikeston resident is concerned about the entrance road. During Mondays Sikeston City Council meeting, council members heard the first reading of a bill to rezone a tract of land consisting of approximately 10.12 acres of property that lies along the east side of US Highway 61 (N. Main) and to the east of 1506 N. Main, from agricultural to single-family residential. Council also heard the first reading of a bill to approve a subdivision at the same location. John Grimm, attorney for Sikeston resident Don Bedell, spoke and said his client lives in the house closest to the area being developed. ....
