Lafayette dogs can take a dip during Pooch Plunge at Castaway Bay


Calling all canine swimmers, get your floaties ready.
Castaway Bay in Lafayette will open the pool to dogs for three evenings in August, marking the 10th Annual Pooch Plunge. 
The splash party, to be held from 5-8 p.m. on Aug. 10, 11 and 12, draws as many as 500 dogs each year, according to The Dog Park Association of Greater Lafayette. 
Castaway Bay is located 601 Beck Lane, Lafayette, in Armstrong Park.
Families are invited to sit back and watch their dogs have a blast splashing in the pool, available just for the dogs. No swimming for humans.
Professional photographers are scheduled to be at the event. ....

HOLYOKE Former Mayor Alex B. Morse left nonprofits in his hometown out in the cold during a charitable purge of leftover donations to his unsuccessful run against U.S. Rep. Richard E. Neal.
Records recently published by the Federal Elections Commission show Morse appointed in February as Provincetown town manager donated the lion’s share of more than $62,000 in campaign donations to charities on Cape Cod. They included a homelessness prevention program, an AIDS support group, a soup kitchen and a summer camp for LGBTQ youth. ....
