Highland County commissioners Jeff Duncan, Terry Britton and David Daniels announced an agreement for a new development at the Leesburg Industrial Park, as well as plans to revise the county’s sewer use rules, during their Wednesday, April 7 meeting.
Commissioners voted 3-0 early in the meeting to authorize a purchase agreement contract with Nelson Family Enterprises. ....

Highland County commissioners Jeff Duncan, Terry Britton and David Daniels discussed area solar farms with county resident Drew Hastings during their Wednesday, March 17 meeting.
Hastings formerly served as mayor of Hillsboro from 2012-19. He told commissioners that he had “a few questions” for which he was seeking clarification, as well as sharing his feedback on the solar projects in various stages of planning in Highland County. ....

The village of Greenfield may soon find itself sandwiched between two solar panel farms with the recent approval of the proposed 435-acre Fayette Solar facility.
The Fayette County Board of Zoning Appeals recently voted 3-2 in favor of allowing the new solar panel farm to be built on leased land across the Highland/Fayette County line north of Greenfield.
The local approval of Fayette Solar comes weeks after plans were announced to build the 120-megawatt Ross County Solar facility southeast of Greenfield across the Highland/Ross County line. ....
