Its an effort to undermine our democracy, to diminish Donald Trumps own two impeachments, his first impeachment for trying to illegally bribe a Foreign Government to help him with his campaign, and the second for a deadly insurrection in the halls of this capitol after he asked his followers to tear through the halls of congress which they did with zip ties looking to execute the former Vice President. He said it out loud. it was very, very clear to those of us on the house floor that day and those of us who took an impeachment vote, he wanted to overturn the election. he clearly wanted to use every tool possible from november to january 6th in order to do that. whether it was election machines or using the levers of the department of justice or department of defense or homeland security. all of that should be frightening to the american public. . has anything surprised you from the records you ve gotten from the national archives? yes. i think we learned things through all of these document productions. and so there have been things that confirm details that we already know. and there have been new pieces that have been helpful to aid in our investigation. and how many of them were ripped up and had to be taped back together and what sized pieces are we talking about?
Spring, but they are coming, and they are coming and i know they are coming because the committee has started to make preparations for the kinds of things that they re going to unveil to the public. i understand according to my reporting that there are going to be two tracks. the first track is going to be revealing to the public what the committee has learned to date over the course of these depositions, over the course of these document productions. it will be similar, i understand, to how they read out the text messages that meadows turned over. so it could be really a big moment for the committee because they re not doing an interim report, but they might read out what they have to date. the second thing they intend to do is to have public hearings with witnesses, and this is also really significant because whether it s witnesses pleading invoking their fifth amendment right or just refusing to answer questions at all, this will be beamed into the televisions of people nationwide
Talk about here every night? well, yes, i would agree that s what it is, particularly because weisselberg is on the list and the documents. and recognize that the weisselberg in all of the document productions is quite limited at this point. it s just what they ve produced before. but if they look and see that there s not enough information, there s just going to be a second round, and there s just going to be more and more and more when it comes to the documents. and that is going to make the president blow a gasket. i don t think there s any question about that. if we think he had a bad week last week with the crazy speech wait until weisselberg is testifying in front of the house. but yes, i think it s a huge threat because not only do they not have the parameters of mueller or the parameters of the southern district, they don t have the parameters of crimes. what they can view as an abuse of power is whatever they say is
