Nonthaburi province announced it will administer the AstraZeneca vaccine as a second dose after a first jab of Sinovac for its residents, starting from Tuesday.
It was the first province to jump on the cross-dose bandwagon. The Public Health Ministry on Monday decided the AstraZeneca jab will be administered three to four weeks after the first Sinovac injection.
Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said a combination of the jabs will allow greater immunity against the Delta variant of Covid-19.
The cross doses will be made available at non-hospital vaccination sites at Central Plaza Chaengwatthana, Wat Sai Yai s meeting hall, Central Plaza Westgate and The Mall Ngam Wong Wan, as well as to those who registered for vaccination via the Mor Prom (Doctors Ready) app starting on Sunday. ....

The government has suspended the vaccine registration app Mor Prom.
The app previously covered registration for vaccinations, follow-ups on the first and second jabs, checks on side effects and vaccinationcertification.
Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) spokesman Taweesilp Visanuyothin said yesterday the Mor Prom (Doctors Ready) app will now handle vaccination follow-ups and certification only.
But Dr Taweesilp said each province should now have its own vaccinationregistration system like those of Bangkok, Phuket and Nonthaburi.
However, no further information has been provided by the CCSA about how those who were not in the elderly group and the group with seven underlying diseases in provinces apart from Bangkok, Phuket and Nonthaburi would be able to register for vaccinations. ....

Amid increasing confusion, he said registration was now excluded from the Mor Prom (Doctors Ready) app. That platform will now handle vaccination follow-ups and certification only. ....
