Joe Daniher’s career rejuvenation is underway with the key forward kicking four goals for the Brisbane Lions in an outstanding hitout against Gold Coast at Metricon.
The former Essendon star had an instant impact when he marked the first centre bounce clearance of the match and kicked a long goal. The clearance came from Lions’ Brownlow medallist Lachie Neale who has overcome a calf problem that slowed him up in the pre-season.
Daniher, who joined Brisbane as a free agent after eight seasons at Essendon at the end of last year, looks set to form a dangerous combination with fellow left footer Eric Hipwood who also kicked four goals as the Lions tore the Suns apart in the first quarter to set up a match-winning lead.
