‘People’s anger against the government will reflect in Assembly elections by way of support to DMK’
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president and Leader of Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Assembly M.K. Stalin on Monday rejected the notion that the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) was strong in the western region of the State and that Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s hailing from the region would be a challenge to the DMK in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Retired Judge of the Madras High Court P.R. Sivakumar joined the DMK Three district secretaries of the Rajini Makkal Mantram and senior office-bearers on Sunday joined the DMK in the presence of party president M.K. Stalin.
A DMK press release said Thoothukudi district secretary A. Joseph Stalin, Ramanathapurm district secretary K. Senthil Selvananth, Theni district secretary R. Ganesan, IT wing leader K. Saravanan, Ramanathampuram disrict deputy secretary A. Senthilvel and traders union secretary S. Muruganandam joined the party.

With the DMK going all out to regain power in the state, the churches have already started working for the partyâs victory, including the celebration of Hindu harvest festival Pongal.
Though elections to the Tamil Nadu state assembly are a couple of months away, some Christian preachers have begun praying for the victory of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
This is not surprising given the fact that a majority of the churches and preachers in Tamil Nadu are against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi since the strict imposition of the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act (FCRA).
